Elisabeth (Betty) Gee is a professor and the Delbert and Jewell Lewis chair in Reading and Literacy at Arizona State University. She studies the social, cultural, and intellectual dimensions of game-related learning in out-of-school settings. Her recent projects have focused on families and gaming, the design of games to introduce girls to computational thinking, and the use of game making to cultivate designerly thinking among youth and families. Her latest books include Families at Play (2018; co-authored with S. Siyahhan) and Children & Families in the Digital Age (2017; co-edited with L. Takeuchi & E. Wartella).
